THE RIFLE ASSOCIATION MEETING.
[BY TEL2GRATH. —TOESS ASSOCIATION'.] Wellington, Thursday. This morning Lieutenant-Colonel Soramerville, who returned from South Africa yesterday, was requested to take in hand the arrangements for the holding of the meeting of the Rifle Association next year. The Colonel expects to hold the meeting during March. The authorities favour the newlyacquired range at Trentham, and if this place should be chosen, the Government will connect the ground with railway from Silverstream. The .303 rifle will be used, and the Colonel is now at work preparing a programme, which will bo issued shortly. It will be practically the programme which had to be dropped this year, but the prizemoney will be larger. A number of marksmen who went with the contingents to South Africa are expected to take part in the meeting, which most probably will be held at Wanganui, and after this will always be at Trentham,
