[Br TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Napier,' Thursday. The Wesley an District Synod last night adopted a petition protesting against the introduction of licenses in the King Country, and urging Parliament to reject certain proposals in the Licensing Act Amendment Bill of 1900. and further urging that such drastic changes as aro referred to should not be made till the people have considered thi-.m, and pronounced upon them at the next general election.
