The matter of reduction ! 4 fees I dismiss by saying that when the oc- ' qpon arises our auctioneers will prove that j tlYy can work as cheaply as any in the same l lift. Your correspondent would have us hoj lie» that the credit given by the auctioneers l enbles many butchers to keep going—and. saw a monopoly— the great benefit of j thetarmers, by causing wholesome competition at the cattle markets. What are the 3 fact? The auctioneers give seven days' ' creqt to the butchers, which, if not cash, is * nexl door to it; and I thank your correis--3 pon »nt for making such an opening for me J to a 1 public attention to the fact. Yes, sir; . the mtchers get seven days' credit. Will the leads of families who read thie letter ? plea* engrave tho fact on their memories, and s meat is a perishable article, and ought f to bi sold for cash, treat it so.
