HORSE SALE AT PAPAKURA.
A large horso sale was commenced at Papakura yesterday by Mr. H. 0. Nolan, on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. No loss than 400 horses were yarded. Buyers were present from Taranaki, Palmerston, Maungaturoto, Matakana, Waikato. and othoi districts. Competition was keen, and most of the lots brought under the hammer were disposed of at satisfactory prices. Heavy draughts ranged from £20 to £36; light draughts from £6 10s to £25 harness horses from £12 10s to £iB. Mr. Nolan was unable to submit all the entries, and the sale will be continued to-day. Many of the animals to be offered are well worthy tho attention of buyers.
