FIRE AT COROMANDEL.
pBY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Coromandel, Tuesday. The billiard-room occupied by Mr. S. Cohen was discovered to be on fire last night, the alarm being given about eleven o'clock. A small storeroom, attached to the main building, was found to be in full blaze, and the fire had broken through and caught the interior of the main saloon. The fire brigade, under Captain Roil, were speedily on tue scene, and by their strenuous efforts at last suppressed the fire. There were two billiard tables in the saloon, owned by Mr. Cohen. These were insured in the Sun Office for £175, and the fittings and fixtures for £25, making £200 in all. The building had only recently been purchased by Mr. George Lora.m, and, so far as is known here, he had no insurance. The damage to the building is estimated at about £30, and the damage to the contents at about £20. One table was injured by water only, the other being untouched.
