GENERAL TELEGRAPHIC NEWS

[ll TKLEGRAFir.PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, Monday. The Chief Justice gave judgment to-day in the case in which George Hutchison, M.H.R., sought to have his name struck off the list of shareholders of the Western Packing Company, Patea. The Court refused the application, holding that while there had been misrepresentation in the original prospectus, the position of the company had afterwards been made clear to the plaintiff. Further Stoke Orphanage cases have had to be postponed for a few days in consequence of an accident to Mr. Skerrett, one of the counsel for the defence, who was injured on Saturday when playing polo. The Railway Department has established picnic grounds at the Upper Hutt, whither it is intended during the summer months, to run special excursions for the benefit of city residents.

The Department of Agricultural has received an inquiry for the names of persons likely to be sending frozen pork to London, and would be glad of information on the subject.
