SHOOTING MATCH AT PAEROA. [Br TELEGRAPH.— correspondent.] Paeroa, Saturday. A vert interesting shooting match took place on the Paeroa Range this afternoon for two silver flasks, presented to the Ohinemuri Rifles (No. 1) by the Oampboll-Ehrenfried Company, one flask to be awarded to the highest scorer among, the first-class shots, and the other for the second-class marksmen. Sergeant Shaw succeeded in carrying off the prize among the first-class competitors, whilst Private Moore registered the highest score among the second-class shots. The Hauraki Rifles fired the second of three matches for the aggregate prizes at the Parawai Range this afternoon. The ranges were, 00yds, 500 yds, and 600 yds, and the scores wore: Sergeant Patterson, 77; Sergeant Clark, 69; Private Long, 63; Private Clark, 65; Lance-Corporal Crosbie, 64; Corporal Finlayson, 58; Private Thompson, 57; Private Lindsay, 36; Private Quarterman, 53; Sergeant L'efevre, 50; Private Billing, 50j. Private Morris, 46; Corporal Kerr, 43; Bugler Edwards, 42. The Auckland Naval Artillery, who are under canvas for 16 days at ■'' Devonport, paraded at the Bastion Forts on Saturday afternoon, under Lieutenant-Commander Clemens and Lieutenants Salmon and Endean, and were put through a course of drill at the 6in guns, and acquitted themselves satisfactorily.
