[BY TELEGRAPH. -PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ! Wellington, Wednesday. The Imperial Government is willing to place a large order in New Zealand for jams for consumption in South Africa, if the prices are satisfactory. Christchtjrch, Wednesday. Mr. Collins, M.H.R., has telegraphed to the Minister for Justice, suggesting the remission of the remainder of the sentence passed on Lillie Long, convicted of cruelty to her step-children, on the grounds that she has been sufficiently punished and has received severe warning.
