Owing to the disclosure to America of the plans of the new French field guns recently, the naval attache at the American Embassy in Paris has suddenly been sent to Gibraltar, while Mr. Horace Porter, the American Ambassador, has also left Paris and has not returned. Mr. J. G. A. Laishman, United States Ambassador in Switzerland, succeeds him.
