LAND SETTLEMENT.
[BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Dunedin, Tuesday. Applications wero received to-day for sections in the Burnego Estate, acquired by the Government under the Lands for Settlement Act. The 7054 acres were subdivided into 23 farms, and 74 applications have been received covering all sections. The average annual rental is 4s per acre. The ballot takes place on Friday.
