ATHLETIC NOTES.

FOOTBALL. WAIROA RUGBY UNION. The adjourned annual meeting of the above was held in tho Aratapu Library on Saturday. There were present: Messrs. Kilfoyle, Allman, Chambers, Bartley, Childs, Turbot, W. and E. Phelan, and W. Bouella, as representatives of the various clubs. Mr. Bonella was voted to tho chair. The motion for the abolition of the district scheme was lost on division by sto 4. Notice of motion was given by Mr. Allman to so alter district boundaries as to bring Graham's Fern within the Northern district. Messrs. W. Smith, F. Butland, and W. Bonella were elected a Selection Committee. It was resolved, on tho motion of Mr. E. Phelan, to raise the annual subscription to the accident fund from 2s to 3s. • Mr. Allman gave notice of motion to rescind the rule relating to payment of accident fees to tho union's secretary only. It was resolved to place the accident fund moneys in the Post Office Savings Bank, in tho names of the trustees, Messrs. H. Hammond and G. Meredith. Messrs. Meredith and Nield were authorised to sign cheques for the union account. It was resolved that all by-laws bo compiled, and that copies of same be printed and supplied to all club secretaries. It was resolved that the next meeting bo held on June 2. .. Tho Northern, Aratapu, and Kopuru Clubs each entered senior and junior teams, and it was decided to start tho cup matches on May 19. The following fixtures were then drawn:— 19: Aratapu v. Northern (seniors), at Aratapu; Aratapu v. Northern (juniors), at Northern ground. May 26: Kopuru v. Aratapu (seniors), at Kopuru; Kopuru v. Aratapu (juniors), at Aratapu. Juno 2: Northern v. Kopuru (seniors), at Northern ground; Northern v. Kopuru (juniors), at Kopuru.—(Own Correspondent.) WAIKATO RUGBY UNION.

The annual meeting of the above was held at tho Commercial Hotel, Hamilton, on Saturday evening, Mr, George Edgeeumbo (president) in tho chair. The following delegates were present:—Hun try, Messrs. B. Housley and E. Hall; Hamilton, Messrs. G. Speight and T. Evans; Cambridge, Mr. Care. Tho following officers wero elected:— dent, Mr. G. Edgeeumbe; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. W. Lang, M.H.R., W. H. Homes, M.H.R., H. T. Slacks, R.Hewitt.Gwynne, Day, Gallagher, Bailey, Gordon, Cox, Tristram; secretary and treasurer Mr. Tristram. A Weather Committeo was appointed to decido as to tho suitability of weather for travelling, so as to avoid forfeitures of matches. Tho secretary reported that the last season had not been a very successful one, five matches having been played, one won, two lost, and two drawn. The receipts for tho year totalled £60 6s, and the expenditure £55. Liabilities amount to £12 9s 3d, and assets £10 10s sd. It was decided to play three rounds for caps. The following fixtures for tho first round were made:—May 26:' Huntly v. Cambridge, at Hamilton; Hamilton a bye. Juno 2: Hamilton v. Cambridge, at Hamilton; Huntly a bye. June 9: Hamilton v. Huntly, at Huntly; Cambridge a bye. Second round—Juno 16: Cambridgo v. Huntly, at Ngaruawahia; Hamilton a bye. Juno 23: Hamilton v. Cambridge, at Cambridgo; Huntly a bye. Juno 30: Hamilton v. Huntly, at Hamilton; Camibriclgo a bye. It was moved. " That the disqualification of W. McVeagh bo removed." The motion was lost. It was decided that the union shall not entertain or accopt entertainment. The subscription of affiliated clubs was fixed at £2 2s. Tho secretary was instructed to writo to the Waipa and Pinko Unions, suggesting that one union, combining all three unions, bo formed, in order to arrango for larger outside matches. A vote of thanks was passed to the officials, and an honorarium of £1 Is was voted to Mr. Tristram for his services as secretary. WAIPA RUGBY UNION.

A meeting of delegates was hold at To Awamutu on Saturday. Representatives were present from Paterangi, Te Awamutu, Otorohanga. Pirongia, and Kiliikihi Clubs. Mr. F. W. Lang, M.H.R., was elected president, and forwarded £1 Is to the funds. After some discussion,' it was decided to play tho Otqrohanga and Paterangi matches at Kiliikihi, as last season.
