An important gathering took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, when the Rev. D. O'Donnell, from Australia, met a number of the ministers in conference in connection with the Christian Convention to be held on the 29th inst. There were present:— J. ne Revs. J. Clark, R. F. Macuicol, W. J. Williams. F. Warner, W. Laycock, Messrs. Wilson, Hemery, and Brakenrig, Mr. O'Donnell explained the lines upon which the Convention would be held, viz., that of the well-known Geelong Convention. The Revs. A. W. Webb, Kent, and Reeva will be the speakers. The ministers gave frank expression to their views, and all agreed to give sympathy and help at the coming meetings. Mr. W. Brakenrig was appointed lion, secretary to the Convention.
