THE GAIETY COMPANY. THE change of programme at the City Hal attracted another large attendance last eyeding, and the members of the Gaiety Specialty Company again succeeded in delighting the onlookers with their amusing songs, mirthprovoking sketches, and funny sayings and doings. Mr. Tom Edwards, in his original sketch, " The Hottentot," met a hearty recaption, and the sisters Howards, who have already won their way into the hearts of loot-■, theatregoers, were highly successful in tieif 1 terpsichorean duets, "Everything in thei Garden's Lovely" and "In Town;" while the versatile pair, Mr. Chae. Failing and Mia Georgio Devoe, who seemed to have a neverending repertoire,'wero again and again'recalled. Mr. Walter Rivers was in capital: voico, .-nd his contributions. " The Brave Old: Guard" and " The Tar's Farewell," earned him a. mist emphatic recall. Zobetta, lb two-headed four-legged nondescript, in his eccentric sing and dance, created nrach laughter. Miss Daisy Chard showed that she had lost none of her popularity, both her items, " All of Us" and " Ma, Our Best One," being redemanded. and Miss J!. C. HENRY'S DRAMATIC SEASON. ' Tho Henry Dramatic Company's advanrt agent, Mr. Andrew Hodge, arrived yesterday to make arrangements for tile opening of the company 011 Saturday. May 20. to their most, successful drama, the "Shamrock and Thistle." Since their appearance in Auckland in October last, Mr. Henry and his conpanv have toured the whole of New Zealand with undoubted success, and their short season of seven nights in Auckland will It looked forward to by many who saw the company on their first visit here. The subjects of the living pictures, depicting scenes in the recent Spanish-American war,', were very realistic, and were admirably *}' plained by'the manager, Mr. F. W.
