A young man about 21 years old, named John Roberts, was to-day committed for trial at the next sessions at Auckland on a charge of uttering a forged ohequo for £25, alleged.to bo signed by Mr. G. H. Whitoombe. Tho cheque was cashed by the manager of tho Now Zealand Clothing Faotory at Waihi. [BY TEiEGRATH.— ASSOCIATION.] Chmstciujrch, Monday. William Horace Williams _ and Albert Rosanowski were to-day committed for trial on a charge of setting fire to a dwellinghouse in St. Albans. Dunedin, Tuesday. John Richards, an old resident of Cromwell, died suddenly to-day while he was eating his breakfast in the City Hotel, where ho was staying. A verdict of death from failure of the heart's action was returned. Wellington, Monday. . The students of the Viotoria Collego have formed an association, with Professor Maclaurin as president, and the other professors as vice-presidents, Thou first sitting waß devoted to raising objections to the present arrangement of the classes in different buildings in tho Ministerial residence at Tinakori Road. The studonts want the Mount Cook site. Blenheim, Monday. Richard Watson Parker, a storekeeper, 64 years of age and a very old resident of the district, died suddenly this morning of heart disease, while engaged turning some hay, in a paddock. *
