A young man about 21 years old, named John Roberts, was to-day committed for trial at the next sessions at Auckland on a charge of uttering a forged ohequo for £25, alleged.to bo signed by Mr. G. H. William Horace Williams _ and Albert Rosanowski were to-day committed for trial on a charge of setting fire to a dwellinghouse in St. Albans. Dunedin, Tuesday. John Richards, an old resident of Cromwell, died suddenly to-day while he was eating his breakfast in the City Hotel, where ho was staying. A verdict of death from failure of the heart's action was returned. Wellington, Monday. .
