THE GOVERNOR.
[BY TELEGRAM.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
Hokitika, Monday. Thk Governor and Lady Ranfurly and suite arrived this morning by special train, accompanied by the Premier and Mrs. Seddon. They were met by the Mayor and county chairman, members of the local bodies, and a large concourse of people. The volunteers formed a guard-of-honour. Addresses were presented in front of the Town Hall, and the school eliildron sang the National Anthem. In the afternoon a large picnic and luncheon took place at Kanieri Lake. The Governor and party afterwards pulled across the lake, and visited the celebrated Dorothy Falls. They returned this evening the town being decorated and illuminated. They visit Lake Mahinapna to-morrow, and thence proceed to Ross, returning in the evening. During their stay here the Governor and party are tho guests of Mr. Joseph Mandl, ex-Mayor, the well-known brewer.
