A VOLUNTEER OFFICER ARRESTED.
[bt TELEGRAM.—MESS ASSOCIATION.] Napier, Monday. C. E. Wise, lieutenant of the Napier Rifles, was arrested in Christchureh, on warrant, charged with the theft of £3 3s, the property of the volunteers. He was brought before the Magistrate's Court this morning, and pleaded guilty. Accused was remanded for i> report bv the probation officer. It was stated that his defalcations amounted to over £20, but had been made good.
