Tom Ossincton's Ghost: By Richard Marsh. Jas. Bowden, 10, Henrietta-street, Covent Garden, W.C., London.— story is a weird one of ghosts occupying a haunted house, in which treasure is secreted. The treasure is at last discovered, and it tends to make some' people happy who have decided to "walk together for life." The denouement of the story is unlooked-for, and therefore the interest in the tale is sustained to the very close. ;■'■■. \ The Staxdard-bkarer: By S. R. Crockett. Methuen's Colonial Library and Co., 36, Essex-street, London.—This is a story of the Covenanting times in Scotland, and the persecution of those men who remained true to their faith and their Church. The author lias happily depicted the lights and shadows.of Scottish life during what was •known as ; "The Killing Times." ' It is a period of Scottish national history of which Scotsmen, 'in these days of civil and religious liberty, are proud, as indicating the patriotism and devotion . of their ancestors. A love story is interwoven with the narrative of "The Standard-bearer." , ■ -, . .'•: .':, Little Miss Primi'By Florence Warden. George Bell and Sons, London.— plot of the story is somewhat novel, and the denouement unexpected. The tale is pleasantly narrated, and the character of "Little Miss Prim." is a strong creation. v ..
