ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS. M-l. Nor'-west won a hurdle race at Avondale prior to his earning distinction at Ellerslie 2. Medallion was sold when a yearline for 500 guineas. He was sired by Nordenfeldt in his first season at the stud at Sylvia Park. He was defeated at two years old by Pygmalion. WAGER. Hawke's Bay.-The V.R.C. Derby winner Ensign was got by Chester from Formosa. He had no relationship with the Musket family.
