OPENING OF A NEW BRIDGE.
[BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDING] ' Paeroa, Fridiy. The new suspension bridge at Karangahtke, erected by Mr. M. Coulson, on contract flora the Ohinemuri County Council, was publbly opened this afternoon, Councillor Stackp&lc declaring the bridge open for traffic. Mr. C. Short's coach was driven across, and this was followed by Mr. Woley's large waggon. Tie bridge is a splendid piece of workmanship, and reflects great credit on the contractor, Mr. Coulson. After the opening ceremony, the party repaired to the Tramway Hotel where a sumptuous repast, served by Hos; Ryan, was partaken of.
