The Auckland Racing Club advertise in auother column particulars bearing upon tbe Royal Stakes, to lie run at the Summer Meeting of 1883 99, and the Champagne Stakes, to be run at the Autumn Meeting in 1899, nominations for which closo ou Friday next.

Private advices received state that J. Chaate had a splendid passage to Wellington with St. Paul, and the son of St. Leger was landed there on Saturday in good condition. Iu Auckland St. Paul is favourite for the Thompson Handicap at 6 to 1. Messrs. McLeod and Cleland have cabled instructions to Sydney for their colt Sabretache to be shipped back to Auckland, and it is understood that the son of Cuirassier will be brought over by the s.b. Waihora. By thes.e. Manapouri, which arrived yesterday from Sydney the steeplechasers St. Leonards and Bell and the pony Fidget were brought back to Auckland.

The racehorses St. Clements (by St. Leger —Satanella) and Volcano (by Torpedo—Maid of the Mountain) are to be offered by auction on Friday next at the Durham Yards by Messrs. Hunter and Nolan.

The trotting horse Darlington was shipped South yesterday by the s.s. Takapuna. A Melbourne cablegram states that Mr. T. Payton, aoting on behalf of the Melbourne Sportsman, has purchased Jack Hanwell, the winner of the First Hurdles at Randwick, 200 guineas.
