Hallenbtein, on behalf of the New Zealand Clothing Company (of which he is chairman of directors), has just completed negotiations for the purchase of the ground and buildings at present occupied by Messrs. Moranand Co. as a clothing factory. The contract for the junotion of the two buildings has been let, so that the New Zealand Clothing Factory's premises will shortly extend from Queen-street to Lome-street. The price has not transpired, but it runs into several thousands. , "'< Messrs. S. Cochrane and Son offered today the lease and goodwill of the.City Restaurant, which were purchased by Mr, i. Several American manufacturers are negotiating with local firmi with the object of appointing important agencies for the salt of bicycles. It is probable that large shipments will be made during (he winter, and that next summer several American machiiei will be placed on the market.
