BeethaiH to-day, Matthew Livingstone, » well-known bookmaker, brought an action against lUttray, secretiry of the Christchurch Racing Club, Wanklyn, one of the stewards, and Constable Flewellen, claiming £200 damages for assault, consisting in being put off the New Brighton racecourse at the races on Deoember 16. Livingstone had a horse running at the meeting, and Mr. Solomon, who iippeured for him, raissd the point that he thereby had a monetary interest in the meeting which required his presence on the cou.-se, and that he should have been allowed time to remove his horse from the course, The magistrate reserved hit decision.
