THE RESIGNATION OF THE MAYOR.

A letter from Hie Worship the Mayor (Mr. A. Boardman) resigning the office through ill-health, wai read at the Council's meeting last night.

Mr. Digxas moved that the resignation be received witb regret, and that • letter be seDt to the Mayor thanking him for hie services in the past, and trusting that he would toon be restored to good health.

Mr. Kidd seconded, and the motion was adopted.

The following is a copy of the letter to be forwarded to Mr. Boardman :— A. Boardman, Esq.: Dear Sir,—Your letter of resignation ot the office of Mayor has been duly laid before the Cuuncil, and in reply I am requested to convey to you tin great regret of the Counoil at your continued illhealth, and to express a hope that you will soon reoover. Permit me on behalf of the officials to express a like hope, while thankin; you for your courteous allusion to the officials. —I am, sir, your obedient servant, P. A. Philips, Town Clerk.
