THE WRECK OF THE PIRATE.
Ala. George Niccol, the owner of the scow Firsto, which was wrecked on Portland Island, received a telegram from Captain StenbecL', the master of the vessel, from Giiborne, yesterday, acquainting him of the casualty, bub the telegram contains no farther particulars than those published in the Herald yesterday. The Pirate was valued at £2500, and was insured in the National Insurance Company of New Zealand for £1000. Press Association.— Telegraph.— Sydney, April 21. The Pirate's cargo was insured in the North Queensland Office. The amount ii lnknown.
