WAIKATO FARMERS' CLUB.

[BI telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Saturday. At the monthly meeting of the Wail ato Farmers' Club, the question of represents' tion at the Agricultural Conference to bi held in Dunedin in June was discussed, and id was reaolred, owing to the expense involved, nob to send a representative, Thi schedule of classes for the root and produce show to be held here on Wednesday, 9th Jane, was adopted. Mr. Tucker spoke of the losses incurred by farmers through the small birds, particularly sparrows, and urged the members of the club to take con* certed action in destroying as many as possible. Other members differed from Mr. Tucker, and thought the good that many of the small birds did more than compel sated for their depredations, the feeling of the meeting being against destroying them. The secretary was instructed to ascertain if the firms acting as agents or manufacturers of latest and most approved agricultural implements will visit Waikato and give an exhibition of them at work under the auspices of the Farmers' Club.
