EASTER MONDAY.
To-day. (Easter Monday) will be a goneral holiday, and the programme of amusements i is a very varied and attractive one, There is the Ellerslie and Holensville races, and in the evening the Greenwood entertainment at the City Hall, the Ada Delroy Company at tho Opera House, and the Easter Carnival at the Drill Shed. Of water excursions there ate quite a number announced. The Kiaora leaves for Putiki Bay at 10 a.m.; the Rose Casey for Waiwera and Mahurangi Heads at 10 a.m.; the Vivid runs an excursion to Motuihi, leaving at 10 a.m.; the Allium loaves for Motuihi at 9 a.m. with the Helping Hand Mission picnic party. In another column will be found the Devonport Ferry Company's list of excursions, which includes trips to Lake Takapuna, St. tleliers Bay, Pine Island, Rangitoto, and Mututapu, the steamers which go to the latter place proceeding to the fishing grounds after landing passengers, An excursion to the Thames by the Wakatere will take place, and a very large number are expected as passengers. A band has been engaged, and as the Thames Foresters are providing an excellent programme of cycling and pedestrian events, the trip should be an enjoyable one.
