CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW.

Tub Auckland Chrysanthemum Society's show, which was coutinued yesterday, was again well attended, especially during the evening, ami tlio magnificent display of blooms and decorations were once more the subject of much favourable comment. In addition to the other attractions an excellent musical programme was provided, and thoroughly appreciated by those present. The arrangements for afternoon tea were in every way first-rate, and this part of the exhibition passed off most successfully. The chief feature of the evening was the announcement of the prize-winners in the competition for table decorations, in which great interest has been taken. The result of the ballot was: Miss Burniugnam, Ist prize; Miss E. Fen ton, 2nd prize; aud Mrs. Harvey, 3rd prize. The following awards have also been made, in addition to those already published :—Silver medal, presented by the President, won by Mr. A. Taylor; silver medal, presented by Mr. Henry Johiistone, for 36 varieties (12 incurved and 24 Japanese), Mr. A.Taylor; bronze medal, presented by Mr. Uilmore, Mr. A. Taylor; Society's silver medal, for 3b' varieties (12 incurved and 24 Japanese), Messrs. D. Hay and Sons; Society's bronze medal, for 24 blooms (incurved), Mr. A. Taylor. The show will be ugain open to the public to-diy, when another choice musical programme will be given by the band, and in the evening, at half-past eight, Mr. L. Lewis will sell the blooms by auction.
