FIRE IN WELLINGTON.

A fire broke out this afternoon in Marama Crescent, by which three dwelling-houses were destroyed, another gutted, and a fifth damngod, All were now building*. Tho fire began in Piercrd's, where a fire was left in the drawing-room on account of the damp, and tho room was suddenly found in flames. A northerly gale who blowing at tho time, which tho firo rapidly, and owing to tho elevation water wan short. Messrs. C. Hill's and Nuwbold'ehousosworo also destroyod, and McNicol'i gutted, and MuHins'* injured to tho extent, of £600. The insurances on tho fust four amounted to £2700 in tho South Uritinh, National, NewZtmland, Norwich Onion, undPhoonix. Fiorard ami Hill lost protty well everything.
