FIRE AT TE AWAMUTU.

Te Awamutu, Wednesday, The live-roomed dwelling house of Mr. Edward Cox, painter, win totally destroyed by flio at half-past twelve this morning. Mr. Cox was away from home, and Mrs. Cox, the only inmate, was awakened by noise and smoke, and discovered the place ou fire. She had only time to partly dress and seize one or two smalt articles before the place was entirely in flames. Several neighbours were soon on the scene, but the tiro burned so rapidly that nothing was saved, the house and contents being totally destroyed. The origin of tho tiro is unknown, but it is supposed to havo originated from a fireplace, Insurances: House, £100; furniture, £60 in tho New Zealand Olli=e.
