The annual business meeting of the Mahurangi Band of Hope, for the purpose of electing officers and the executive committee for the ensuing year, was held in the Masonic Hall, Warkworth, on the 24th. Mr. J. D. Morison, president, occupied the chair. The secretary read the report and balance-sheet for the past year. The latter document showed a credit balance of £3 7s Bd. The report stated that the committee had revised the members' roll. Eight new members had been enrolled during the year, and the membership now numbered 296. After adopting the report and balance-sheet, the election of members was proceeded with, when Mr. W. J. Wilson was elected president, and Messrs. J, D. Morison and J. Blair vice-presidents. Mr. T. Wilson was re-elected secretary, Miss Grange organist, and Mr. Bradnam auditor. Two members of the committee retired by effluxion of time, and Miss Worbovs and Mr. A. Warm were elected to fill the vacancies. The usual votes ot thanks were adopted. A letter from the Auckland Band of Hope Union was considered, andthe secretary was directed to forward 21s as' the contribution from this branch. The secretary was directed to call the committee together and arrange a programme for the ensuing year. 'J.
