THE BRUNNER COAL MINING CASE.
[by telegraph.—press association.] Hokitika, Tuesday. The Coal Company's case was continued to-day, whoii only two witnesses were examined, namely, Tonnant, formerly employed as fireman in the mine, whose examination lasted over four hours, and Kooney, formerly a miner. At present there are three theories for tho explosion as put forth by the witnesses: (I) A burst of gas from a fall in the rh-er; ('.!) an explosion of coal dust from a blown out shut; and (3) an explosion of coal dust from a small KB< explosion. Tho claims received at present amount, to JCiS.OUO. There aro no present indications of an curly finish of the case.
