THE COLONIAL BANK.
A summons was filed in the Dunedin Supreme Court on Monday, the 28th of Sept., on behalf of some of tho Wellington shareholders of the Colonial Bank, calling upon all parties concerned to show cause before Mr. Justice Williams why the several persons specified in the schedule to the summons, and such other persons as may be deemed capable of giving information, should nob be directed to attend before the Court to be publicly examined as to the promotion and formation of the said Bank, unci as to the conducb of the business of the said Bank, and as to thoir conducb and dealings as directors or officers or otherwise, and why such directions should not be given with reference to the Judge or officer before whom such examination is to bo hold as the Court shall deem necessary 'upon the ground (among others) that) such public examination is required for the benefit of the liquidation of the said Bank.' The persons named in the schedule include the names of two ox-directors and several exofficers of the Bank.
