TEE ENGLISH-CO-OPERATIVE DELEGATES.

On September 30bh the English co-opera-tive delegates, Messrs. B. Jones, W. Stoker, and J. Clay, arrived by the s.s. Gairloch from New Plymouth, with a view of visiting the Waikato ■district,:■;and ,: also of arranging for a meeting in Auckland with the local trade and industrial organisations. The delegates are accompanied by: Mr. A. M. Smith, of the Civil Service, who has been deputed by 'the Government; to; take the delegates ' round the colony, and to arrange matters to facilitate their mission. ; The delegates are greatly pleased with their visib to tho colony, and desiro to thank the Premier and thei .'Government,: and the officers of Government for. the facilities givon them in fulfilling their mission. .In Wellington they did not get farther than Carterton, in seeing the Wairarapa district, and they were compelled to abandon their intended visit to Napier, in order to catch tho 'Frisco mail steamer, and for tho same reason were unable to make a stay: in the Taranaki district. The delegates were rather disappointed at this, and they did not even see the Taranaki dairying district from the train, as nightfall set in on getting into tho Taranaki province. . " The Co-operative delegates have branches of their society .ab New York, and at Montreal, Canada, and these they will visit en route for England, as the society does a large business in these cities and on the Pacific Coast. lb is understood that Mr. MacEwan, the Government daisy expert, will also proceed with them in the outward San Francisco steamer.
