' Hamilton, Thursday,. A cold south-easterly wind swept over Walkato yesterday. It blew nearly a gale, and no rain fell till nightfall, While the wind howled fast below, the upper stratum of clouds remained almost stationary. Pabroa, Thursday. The heavy storm of yesterday caused a big slip on the Karangahake Gorge Road, and, as a consequence, all traffio to-day had to go over the old Kahau Road- The weather to-day has cleared a little, though it is still blowing hard, accompanied by wintry showers. T« Aroija, Thursday. A fierce south-easterly gale, accompanied by * heavy rain, has raged here all Tuesday and Wednesday, and much damage has been done to property and fences.
