The Union Company'* steamer Dingadee, from Wellington and East Coast porta, is expected to arrive this morning, and will leave for th« same ports again in the eveninc. There was no sign of the Northern Company'* steamers Argyle, from Mercury Bay and Kuaotunn, and Chelmsford, from Whakatane and Tauranga, op to an early boar this m orning. The steamer Stella arrived from Whangarei yesterday afternoon with a cargo of coal for the Richmond. The steamer left this port on Tuesday night, and met the full force of the north-easterly gale, reaching Whangarei on Wednesday morning. The weather was exceedingly thick, and there Was a tremendous sea, but the Stella made very good weather of it all the time, her seagoing qualities receiving a good test. The run up from hangarei was made in the good time of eight hours. Yesterday afternoon the Northern Company's steamer Waiotahi left for l'auranga and Opotiki. The brigantine Linda Weber hauled alongside the barque Hudcon yesterday, to tranship her cargo of Island produce into that vessel for Loudon. To-day the American barquentine R. A. C. Smith, which has been detained in port for several ilt.ys by contrary winds, will sail for Hew York. The schooner Waiapu is to load up for the East Coast and Cisborne. To-night .the Union Company's steamer Te Kapo leaves for the Bluff direct, to load produce back to this port. She will leave the Bluff about Wednesday next, and will call at Oamaru and Timaru on the way. This morning the Northern Company's steamer Clansman arrives from the North, and leaves for Whangarei at 10.30 p.m. Yesterday the Union Company's steamer Upolu left Wellington for Westport, to load coal. She is due at this port on Monday, and leaves for Fiji on Thursday. The Union Company's steamer Tarawera had a long passage of 41 hours from this port to Gisborne on account of the heavy gale. This evening Messrs. Donald and Edenborough's steamer Richmond leaves for Tahiti and Rarotonga. Yesterday the barquentine Coquette sailed from Lyttelton for Mercury Bay to load timber for Sydney. The schooner Orpheus made a good run of 18 days from this port to Niue (Savage Island), and has sailed for Vavau with a full load of copra. To-morrow the steamer Ngunguru leaves for Whangarei,

THE OCEAN ROVEP. IN DISTRESS. R08»ell, May R—The brigantine Ocean Rover, Captain Johnson, laden with wheat, eight days out from Lyttelton, bound for Noumea, put in here last night disabled. On Tuesday evening, about 5 p.m., when 30 miles east of Cape Brett, she carried away the greater part of her foremast. The bowsprit is completely gone, also all the head sails, Including the fore topsail. Her oargo is all right. Sht will have to procccil to Aucklanu or Whangarcu, to procure a new foremast, bowsprit, etc. The captain states that though he has been going to sea since he was a boy, he nertr experienced rougher weather before.
