[FROM OtJB.OWH CORBK3FONDENT.] Pabboa, Saturday. The funeral of. the late Mr. David Henry took place this afternoon, and was very largely attended. '-~•• \ . The railway, authorities,,thEOUgh the representations made, by Mr. Bell, local stationmaster, are now increasing the storage accommodation considerably, in order to meet. the extra demand for storage, caused by the N.S.S. Company, landing goods on the Railway Wharf, as well as by the increasing traffic by team from the Waikato. It has fallen to the lot of the Karaagahake brunch of the Miners' Union to enrol the _';st lady member of the Union. It appears that some time ago Mrs. McGruer, wife of Mr. N. McGruer, manager of the New Zealand Crown Gold Mining Company's works at Karangahake, made a present to the Union, through the medium of her husband, of the ground on which the Union office now stands; and in order to mark their appreciation of this kindly act, the Union elected the .donors life honorary members of the Union. The certificates in connection with the same came to hand last Saturday, and on Tuesday night last the committee of the Union met at Mr. McGruer's residence, and presented the certificates, it being pointed out that Mrs. McGruer was the first lady member of the Union. The ceremony was a most pleasing one, the certificates being handed to Mr. and Mrs. McGruer, by Mr. A. Agnew and Mr. 8. W. Milnes respectively. . The many Paeroa friends of Mr. Bickeford, accountant at the Bank of Mew Zealand, will be interested to learn that he has been removed to Danevirke to assume the duties of agent for the Bank; the position of accountant at the local branch will be filled by Mr. Bush. The departure of Mr. and Mrs. Bickeford from Paeroa will be deeply regretted, as during their time of residence here they contracted numerous friends . At a meeting of Master Masons, last night, Brother C. C. Rhodes was unanimously elected to the office of W.M. The new lodge is to be called the OhinemurL
