POLICE COURT.—^Wednesday. [Before Mr. H. W. Northcroft, S.M.)

Duonkennkss.—George Spicer was fined 20s, with the option of seven days; Norman Campbell and Martin Leatrange were each fined ss, with the alternative of 48 hours, and one first offender was cautioned.

Alleged Larceny.—Robert David Green, ft lad of about 13, was charged with having entered the shop of James McNaughton, in Symondsstreet, and stolen a certain quantity of cigarettes and 4s 5Ad in money, of the total value of £6 18s GJcf. Sergeant MoMahon asked that the defendant might be remanded till the same date as the boy charged on the previous lay with the same offence. A remand Wis accordingly granted until ihe 12th inst-.nt.

Alleged Obscene Language.-James Hay was cliarped with having , used obscene language in Ponsonby Road on May 2nd. Constables Finnerty anu Clarke gave evidence, and His WoYship adjourned the charge till the 20th instant, and advised Hay to (jive up using bad language. Dismissed.—John Bell was charged that he did, on April 26, during an address at the watermen's step?, Queen-street, use abusive language concerning his wife, Elizabeth Bell. The defendant submitted that the information was faulty, and applied to have it dismissed. The case was dismissed.
