SUICIDE OF A WIDOW AT ARCHHILL.
A widow woman, Mrs, Elizabeth Jones, residing in Stanley-street, ArchhiJl, committed suicide yesterday, by hanging herself to a door with a clothes line. About a couple of year) ago she lost) her husband by death, and since that period has been Buffering from mental depression, and frequently expressed a longing for death that she could.be with him. Mrs, Jones was last seen alive about half-past nine o'clock yesterday morning. When one of her daughters returned homo from school in the middle of the day she found her mother hanging from the door with her foet drawn up. The child went and informed her grandmother, who lives in the vicinity. Deceased was a comparatively young woman, being only 33 years of ago. Constable Walker, of Arohhlll, raado tlio necessary investigations, and an inquest will bo held to-day by Dr. Philson, coroner. The deceased's relatives are all respectable poople, and have resided in the district for years.
