London, January 22, As Prince Henry of Battenberg did not show , satisfactory improvement from the attack of fever, he wits sent Home to England with a view to receiving better medical attention and treatment, but he died on Monday when the steamer was 08 Sierra Leone,
Prince Henry of Battenbtlrg was proceeding to Madeira when the relapse set in.
The Queen is quite prostrated. She had a delicate interview with Princess Beatrice in breaking the news. The proposed review of the squadron by Her Majesty has been cancelled owing to the Prince's death. London, January 23. It is expected that the funeral of Prince Henry of Battenburg will take place at Windsor Castle. The Emperor of Germany has sent a message of condolence to the lloyal Family. Many meetings have been held in London and the provinces at which resolutions of sympathy with tho Queen have been carried on the loss of one who volunteered for service in a foreign country. The Prince's death has been a terrible blow to the Queen, who was most deeply afiected, especially at the knowledge that her favourite daughter's happy life is thus crushed.
