THE WELLINGTON REGATTA.
♦ [BY IBLBaKAPIf.— HIBSS ASHOtHVTIOtt.'j Wellikgtok, Thursday. The annual regatta of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club yesterday did not create so much interest as usual, owing to the fact that competitors did not include any boats from other ports. The heavy sea running in the harbour gave the smaller craft a rough time of it. The Waitangi won the first-class yacht race by 55 minutes, the Maritana being second. The Ngaire, the only other competitor, gave up. The Isoa carried off the (second class event, with Rona second. The Waiwetu, Mapn, and Mahina also started, but did not finish. The Jennie Reid had an easy will in the third class race.
