With reference to the inter-club matches to be played to-morrow between the Remuera and West End Lawn Tennis Clubs We have the authority of the secretary of the latter club for the following information West End played and defeated the Remuera and Auckland Clubs, since Which a meeting was hold oh the 21st instant for the purpose of considering, the protests lodged by the Remuera and Auckland Clubs for West End playing an alleged hOrt-uiember. The Meeting failed to disprove such player's membership, of that she was ineligible to represent the club in tho matches played. Nothing was done at the meeting (as appears by the minutes) but pass a resolution ordering the above two 'matches to be played over again. A copy of blh'B resolution was sent to the secretary of the West End Club, who in compliance With such resolution, and falling such proof of nOnmembership sent |n again the names of the players representing his club (Including the said alleged noil-member). Tho secretary of the Association omitted to send in the wholo of the names sent in, and the additional names ate:-On West End ground: First combined, Miss Jolly and Mr. Paterson play Mrs. and Mr. 1). Clerk. On Remuera ground: Second > combined, Mips McMastor and Mr. Gentles play Miss K. McMillan and Mr. Bamford. The West End Club maintain their right to play the alleged non-member, and Will do so oh Saturday next, and without her they decline to'play in the inter club matches. Mr. W. J. England, teacher of music, resumes his duties on Monday next. .
