AUCKLAND ANNUAL REGATTA.

The entries for the Auckland Annual Regatta were received by the committee at the Waitemata Hotel last night. There was a large attendance of the committee, Mr. A. H. Nathan (chairman) presiding. Much more interest was taken in the business last night than has been the case for some years past, a large number of those interested in aquatic affairs putting in an appearance. The committee are all working well together to make the affair as successful as possible, and the promises of money and trophies are very favourable. The Union S.S. Company's fine steamer Flora has been kindly placed at the disposaf of the committee as flagship, and as she is a fine, roomy vessel, the attendance of visitors should be very large. This year two more yachts take part in the large yacht race, the Halcyon and Aorere. These two boats are over the prescribed rating for yachts engaged ,iu the 7 rating aud under class, and will necessarily have a large time allowance from the Viking and Volunteer. Crews from H.M.s.
