Before leaving the petroleum works this evening the men pumped the well and obtained two barrel*! of pure oil, free from water, in about fifteen minutes. They then closed down until morning. The prospects are very satisfactory. Natural gaa from the well la now being used to heat the boiler for driving the machinery.
