ACTIVITY IN BRITISH DOCKYARDS. PfeM Association.-KlectricTelegtftph.-Copyri|:ht London, January 20. It is reported that Great Britain haf purchased from the Argentine Republic two cruisers, now being constructed by Sir William Armstrong at his works at Elswick.
Lord Salisbury, replying to Mr, Olney, Attorney-General of the United States, declares that the British squadron now being equipped is not destined tor the Bermudas, and lie is prepared to satisfy America on that point if it does not appear that he is yielding to pressure in the matter.
The Queen will review the new Flying Squadron before the vessels leave on a cruise.
The activity in the dockyards is being maintained, and work is carried on night and day.
