Wellington, Tuesday. A visitor from Peilding named Jacobs lost a purse containing a cheque for £274 6s in the crush »b the circus last night. It is believed his pocket was picked.
After last night's heavy rainfall the weather has cleared, and is now beautifully fine and cool.
Chkistchuroh. Tuesday. C. White, porter at Rfingiora Railway Station, who was hurt a fortnight ago by being run over by a train, diod from his injuries last night. The weather has cleared, and it is not expected that the rain has injured the grain crops. Dunedin, Tuesday. Insurances: Houso, £250; furniture, £150.
The weather continues most unseasonably cold and sunless, with gusty winds and driving showers. Bettor conditions prevail back from the coast line.
