FISH FROM NEW ZEALAND.

The Sydney Daily Telegraph says that the Fresh Food and Ice Company are making an important departure in regard to their supplies of fish for the Sydney market, and in future they expect to be able to meet the wants of customers in a much more complete manner than has been done in the past. Mr. J. A. Fotheringham, the secretary of the company, has lately visited New Zealand, and has been spending some time at the various east coast ports, where the principal fisheries are carried on. He has made arrangements for supplies from all these ports, and has also contracted with the Union Steamship Company for the exclusive use of the refrigerating boats for the carrying of frozen fish. At the Bluff he arranged for the formation of a small company to supply blue cod exclusively to the Fresh Food and Ice Company from Stewart Island. From the same port supplies of trumpeter will be procured. At Port Chalmers the barracoota fisheries will be levied on to provide supplies for the Sydney market; from Wellington the " warehou"— great delicacywill be sent, to the extent of 5000 cases in all; and the butterfish, also a toothsome one, will come from there. Soles and flounders will be procured from Napier; schnapper, whitebait, gurnet, and flounder from Auckland.
