Donald and Edenborough's steamer Richmond, for Rarotonga and Tahiti, has been postponed until ten o'clock this morning. This morning the Tyser Co.'s steamer Star of England will leave for Gisborne to load frozen meat, etc., for London. By the Rotomahana from Sydney yesterday the Auckland consignments by the steamers Orotava.from London, and Solingen, from Hamburg, came to hand. Yesterday the Northern Co.'s steamer Ohinemuri was floated into the Auckland Dock for cleaning and painting, and will also have a new foremast stepped. The Union Co.'s steamer Ohau will leave for Westport at noon to-day. Yesterday the schooner Isabella Anderson sailed from the Kaipara for Dunedia with a cargo of timber. The barqaentine Pendle Hill is now on the way from Napier to the Kaipara, to load timber for Sydney. At five o'clock ibis evening the Northern Company's steamer Waiotahi will leave for lauranga and Opotiki. On Thursday next the Union Company's Steamer Ovalau is due from Samoa and Tonga, and will be placed in dock for overhaul, leaving tor Tonga and Samoa on sth June. The departure of the Union Company's steamer Southern Cross for the East Coast, Napier, and Wellington has been postponed until 5 p.m. on Thursday. The steamers of the Northern Union Steamboat Company commence running under a new time-table from Saturday next, particu lars of which will be found in our advertising columns. . THE ROTOMAHANA. The Union Company's steamer Rotomahana, Captain William Waller, arrived from Sydney at 8.30 a.m. yesterday, with a number of passengers for this port and the South. Mr. G. Crawley, the purser, to whom we are indebted for our files, reports that the steamer left Sydney at 6.30 p.m. on Wednesday last, and passed the Three Kings at noon, and the North Cape at 4 p.m. on Sunday, arriving as above. Strong head winds and moderate seas were experienced all the way across. The Rotomahana leaves for East Coast and Southern ports at two o'clock this afternoon. THE WAITEMATA. — ROU-GH vv WEATHER. Early yesterday morning Mr, J. J. Craig's Saart barquentine Waitemata arrived from ewcaatle, after a passage of a little over eleven days, experiencing some rongh weather on . the way. Captain F. iNilsson reports baring sailed from Newcastle on the 15th inst, with a light westerly breeze, which continued for twelve hours, followed by light .'variable winds* accompanied with much

thunder and lightning, up to the 21st. when a heavy gale, veering from the south-west to south, was encountered, during which some of the sails were blown away, the bulwarks started, and the tarpaulins over the main hatch washed off. A spar which was on deck also broke loose daring the gale, and Captain Nilsson was com- „ pelled to heave the vessel to for twelve i hours, so severe was the wearher. The Karrakatta arrived at Brisbane from Noumea oa the 21st inst. The Dart is to leave Sydney on Saturday next on a surveying cruise along the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland. THE WOLVERENE Yesterday Mr. Ellison, owner of the ship Wolverene, came ever from Sydney by the Rotomahana, in order to endeavour to come to some settlement regarding the vessel. It will be .remembered that after the vessel put into this port in distress, the owner gave notice of abandonment to the underwriters, the ship being insured for £1500 against total loss. The underwriters, however, refused to accept the abandonment, and since then several attempts have been made to come to some definite arrangement as to the disposition of the ship and the cargo, but without success. Shortly after the Wolverene reached this port a survey was made by Captains M. T. Clayton (Lloyd's surveyor), and H. Worsp (Underwriters' Association), and Mr. G. Niccol (shipbuilder), who reported as to the condition of the hull, and what work was necessary to put her into sea-going order. To-day another survey of the vessel will be made by Captains John Nearing and T. Fernandez, and Mr. W. H. Brown (shipbuilder). B 7 TELEGRAPH' KAIPARA HEADS.
