Cousins and Atkin's cricket team journeyed to Panmure on Saturday last to do battle with the Panmureites. Play commenced at three o'clock and resulted in a hollow victory for the home team by one innings and 35 runs. Messrs. G. Loomb and VV. Sykes treated the visitors to some leather-hunting during the afternoon, each putting up 25 runs to their credit. Appended are the scores — Panmure.— innings : J. Loomb, c Benn, b McAdam, 6; W. Stevenson. On Friday afternoon Miss Spiers plays Miss Gorrie on the same lawn. On Saturday A. Peel plays E. Brown, also on the Eden and Epsom lawn. The match between A. Zinzan and A. G. Cooke will also be played on the same afternoon unless some other arrangement can be come to, for Ziuzan is too strong a player for the Onehunga Club to leave him out of their inter-club matches, which take place on the same day. The Parnell lawn had quite a number of players who are in for the championship matches practicing on it yesterday afternoon. Amongst others who were playing were Messrs. Stevenson, Gillies, Harrison, Paterson, Cooke, and Brabant, the last three being members of the West End Club. It being one of the days set apart for men only, a number of singles were played. The constant play is telling rather severely on the courts, which are becoming somewhat dusty.
