POVERTY BAY TURF CLUB'S MEETING.
Gisborne, Monday. The following acceptances have been received for the Poverty Bay Turf Club's Meeting—
First Hurdles.-T. Rose 10.12, Worth 10.7, Poraoana 9.11, Beanly 9.9. Turanga Stakes— Mahaki 10.4, Krina 7.13, Lord Karen 7.9, Hop Market 6.12. Welter Handicap.— 11.7, Lord Raven 10.12, Pomoana 9.12, Barbelle 9.8, Flirtation 9.4, Duncan Gray 9.0. County Stakes.—Porlrna 7.13, Pekapu 7.8, Wool Qneon 7.7, Flirtation 7.5. Derby 6.7. Flying Handicap.—Krina 8.3, King Cannibal 7.12, Hop Market 7.8, Fidget 6.9, Forella 6.7. Shorts Handicap.—Bacchus 8.10, Too Blue 8.6, Lina 8.4, Herbert 7.10, Dandy 7.7, Sandy 7.5, Queen Bess 6.10. ORURU RACES. The annual race meeting was held in Mr. Thomas' paddock on January 2nd. The weather looked threatening, but cleared up for a hot day. The committee did their best, but were handicapped by being short of funds, so placed the entries too high for the value of the stakes. would give greater satisfaction if they got all entries, except the Hack Race, the night before, and weights declared not later than ten o'clock next morning. There was a good muster of people considering how bad the weather had been. The races resulted as follow :—

Oruru Cup of Bsovs. One mite and a-balf.— Percy Lambly's 'Eureka, by Grip, Oat, 1; Povey and Jacentho'a Charley, 9st 21b, 2: Native. King's Daughter, 9st, 3. Trotting Race. Two uiiles.-E.
