THE REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET TEAM.
As it has been stated that the cricket team to represent Auokland against the Fiji players hs»s not yet been selected, thus throwing doubt upon the representative team published in yesterday morning's Herald, we have the best authority for stating that the names we gave were correct. The selection was made on Saturday, and the only doubt was as to which ot the two slow bowlers, H. Gould or F. V. Kelly, should have a place in the team a doubt which was clearly mentioned in our cricket news. Mr. U. E. MacCormick has resigned his position as one of the Selection Committee. It does not yet appear whether, owing to Mr. MacCormick's resignation, it will be deemed necessary to make another selection. NEW ZEALAND CRICKET COUNCIL. (BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Monday. The Wellington Cricket Association have agreed to the proposal to play a match, North v. South Island, so long as it does not interfere with the Fiji match, and suggest February 28 and March 1 and 2 as suitable dates. Mr. H. D. Bell has been elected vice president for Wellington on the Cricket Council, and Messrs. Cross and Holdship the local delegates.
